Good Governance in Public Universities, 2007 – 2008

Objective
The project proposes to integrate the good governance framework based on accountability, transparency and effectiveness into the decision making and the management of education in the four public, state-funded universities from Timisoara.

Target groups
Members of the governing bodies of the four state-funded universities from Timisoara, active student and youth organisations from Timisoara Univeristy Center, students, professors, administrative staff and other parties interested in a good management of higher education.

Activities
Organization of a survey in Timisoara University Center on the existing policies of the governing bodies regarding the accountability of the decision-making
Establish four task groups on university accountability
Training sessions (Advocacy techniques and Coalition management) and a series of workshops (The role of student association in good academic governance, Good governance the Bologna process, Accountable governance in higher education) with the aim to develop a coalition at university level that would enhance the accountability of the governing bodies in public universities
Elaborate performance indicators for good governance and monitor the accountability of governance by the task groups and student organizations
Prepare The Guide for Accountable Governance in Higher Education.
