Regional cross-border cooperation

South East Europe Youth Initiative Fund, 2000 - 2003

The fund supported cross-border cooperation between youth and youth organisations from South-East Europe. The projects encouraged tolerance, understanding, inter-ethnic dialogue, responsibility, self-reliance, volunteerism, leadership, democratic values, multiculturalism, non-violent conflict resolution, and school to work transition activities.

Partnerships with organisations from Albania, Bosnia&Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia, Slovenia
Summer schools on communication and youth civic participation, exchange visits at villages of ethnic relevance, art exhibitions in Romania and Serbia, magazines for youth, training sessions for young journalists, journalistic newsletters, a 5-week bike tour across Romania, Serbia and Bulgaria, youth forums, trainings, internships and workshops, information newsletters on regional opportunities, camps for team animators, seminars, art camps, campaigns to promote the values of democracy and awareness campaigns regarding the danger of drug consume
2200 young involved directly.
