Democratic Values of a Multicultural Society - Policies of the Civil Society Forum, 2001

The forum was organised in the framework of the ‘Link Diversity’ project - Awareness-raising Campaign - to promote multi-ethnic society and democratic citizenship for all, a project of the Council of Europe with the endorsement of the Stability Pact Working Table 1.

Objective
To offer an opportunity for representatives of the civil society from SEE to make an inventory of activities, successful projects and best practices as base for implementing multicultural policies.

Outcome
The presence of over 80 participants from six countries of the region (Bosnia&Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia)
The forum set a list of priorities by the assessment of issues to be considered in the three sectors - education, local government and conflict prevention, in the regional campaign meant to raise awareness of the values and principles of multi-ethnic and multi-cultural society and democratic citizenship.
