Regional cross-border cooperation

The Fourth Regional NGO Fair, 2003
Theme ‘Regional Cooperation: Resource and Tool for Youth NGOs Efficiency’

Objective
To support youth to become agents of change and to facilitate new contacts between NGOs and local government representatives from South-Eastern Europe in order to share information on participants' successful projects and best practices that will form the basis of future regional initiatives.

Outcome
235 applications were received from organisations representing Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine
During the Forum 85 organisations active in fields such as arts and culture, social services, economic development, environment, education, human rights and minorities, resource centers for youth had their own stand to present and promote their activities and projects
130 participants were invited
Workshops were organised on the following themes: Youth involvement in the decision-making process, Risk factors at regional level and the NGOs’ involvement in the fight against them, Regional cooperation at the level of youth NGOs
The presence of important funders, such as Balkan Children and Youth Foundation, Allavida UK, European Youth Forum, Balkan Youth Project, Ministry of Education and Youth from Romania, Ministry of Education from Serbia.
