Regional cross-border cooperation

Democracy and Religion - The Romanian Experience, 2002

Objective
The ‘Democracy and Religion’ regional conference’s objective was to encourage the searching of ways and means for further reconciliation, respect of diversity, democracy, human rights, and especially for the promoting of religious freedoms and rights, the protection of religious minorities, cooperation and stability in South Eastern Europe.

Outcome
Over 60 leaders and representatives of churches and religious communities from Romania, theologians of various Christian churches (Orthodox, Roman-Catholic, Greek, Protestant and Evangelical), of Jewish and Muslim traditions, representative of NGO’s government and local authorities.
