Good Governance in Public Universities

Goal
The project proposes to integrate the good governance framework based on accountability, transparency and effectiveness into the decision making and the management of education in the four public, state-funded universities from Timisoara.

Specific obiectives
To identify and analyse key issues, challenges and appropriate responses with regard to the present situation of the existing accountability mechanism of the governing bodies in the state funded public universities from Timisoara
To develop a coalition supported by four initiative groups that will work on elaborating a common framework for accountable academic governance
To implement and monitor the accountability framework of the governing bodies in the four public universities.

Target groups
Members of the governing bodies from state universities in Timisoara (UVT, UMF, UPT, USAMVT) Board members of student and youth non-governmental organisations and academic organisations from Timisoara University Center Students, professors and administrative staff of the universities, other parties interested in a good management of higher education .

Main activities
Organization of a survey in Timisoara University Center on the existing policies of the governing bodies regarding the accountability of the decision-making
Training sessions (1. Advocacy techniques and 2. Coalition management) and a series of workshops (1. The role of student association in good academic governance, 2. Good governance the Bologna process, 3. Accountable governance in higher education)
Elaborate performance indicators for good governance
Prepare The Guide for Accountable Governance in Higher Education
Implement and monitor the common framework for accountable governance.
