Interactive workshop

The Euroregional Center for Democracy organizes on March 8 - 11, 2006, at the Youth Center, Youth House, 1st floor, Aries st. no 19, an interactive workshop on the following subjects:


  • Law 544 regarding the free access to information of public interest

  • Law 52 from January 21, 2003 regarding the transparency of the decision-making process in the public administration

  • Other methods to participate in the decision-making process at local level

  • The role of NGOs in the community.


The event is part of the Pro Communitas project implemented with the support of the EUROPEAN UNION through the Phare 2003 Program - Consolidation of Civil Society Romania. It aims to consolidate the local partnership between citizens - NGOs and local public authorities and to identify and solve the problems of the community.

40 members of the District Consultative Councils from Timisoara will participate in the training. As one of the objectives is to inform and actively involve the Councils in disseminating information about methods of participation in the decision-making process at the level of local public administration, through this training the representatives of the Councils will beneficiate of useful information on this subject. They will also gain knowledge to help them ask information of public interest (as stipulated by Law 544).

Romanian – Norwegian cooperation for improving accessibility of universities and university libraries in Western Romania

The Euroregional Center for Democracy (CED) from Timisoara, Romania, and the School of Management in Fribourg, Switzerland, are launching a competition to select student organizations or initiative groups to conduct communication/advocacy campaigns in the university campuses of Timisoara.
