Debate
2006-04-04

The Euroregional Center for Democracy organizes on Friday, April 7, 2006, at 3pm, in Vasile Goldiş parlor of Hotel Continental a debate with representatives of the civil society from Arad county and of the Citizens Consultative Comitees on the theme Non-governmental organisations – viable partners of dialogue for the members of Parliament.

Through this meeting we plan to debate issues of present interest, such as:

- Cooperation of the members of Parliament from Arad county with non-governmental organisations and citizens
- Members of Parliament’s perception on NGOs’ activity
- Existing methods and mechanisms of cooperation at local level and proposals to improve them.

The aim of this event is to create a more efficient communication between the elected members of Parliament and the representatives of the civil society, but also to secure a greater involvement in the problems of the community and a bigger acquaintance with problems of NGOs and citizens. During the meeting we shall discuss aspects regarding legislative projects proposed by members of Parliament based on NGOs’ legislative proposals, and how to create an objective image of the members of Parliament in the community.

The event is part of the Open Local Government through Mutual Information and Consultation project, implemented with teh support of the EUROPEAN UNION through Phare 2003 Program – Strenghteining Civil Society in Romania.
