The Euroregional Center for Democracy invites you to participate in the meeting of representatives of local public administration and of District Consultative Councils, that will take place on Monday, February 27, 2006, 16.00, at Hotel Timisoara, (Viena conference room, first floor).

Representatives of the press will also participate in this informal meeting. During the discussions we want to approach the topic regarding the procedure for cooperation between the District Consultative Councils and the Local Council of Timisoara. The main issue will be the accountability of 1 – 3 counsellors for each of the District Consultative Councils, also stated in the Functioning Regulations of the DCC. We also plan to analyse the present situation and identify new means of dialogue and consultation between the elected representatives and citizens, with the purpose of knowing better the problems of the community and also of involving citizens more in the process of making decisions.

The event is part of the Pro Communitas project implemented with the support of the EUROPEAN UNION through the Phare 2003 Program – Consolidation of Civil Society Romania.
