Are you a member of a student or youth organisation from Arad, Cluj or Timişoara? Do you want to gain knowledge and abilities to promote policies in education, to advocate and network with others? Are you interested in applying them in practice after, for a more transparent, accountable and efficient governance of the university you study at?

Apply now to the training sessions organized by the Euroregional Center for Democracy from Timisoara and you can have an active role in influencing decision-making processes in your university!
 
The sessions are organized within the Accountable guvernance in higher education: a program to promote principles of good governance in state-funded universities from Arad, Cluj and Timisoara University Centres project, implemented with the financial support of the European Union through PHARE 2005 Strengthening Democracy in Romania, Component 2 – Democracy, human rights, the rule of law, independence of justice and fight against corruption. Through this initiative we aim at defining and implementing in a participatory manner a general pilot framework for accountable, transparent and efficient governance in ‘Aurel Vlaicu’ University, Arad, ‘Babes-Bolyai’ University, Cluj, University of West, Politehnica University, University of Medicine and Pharmacy ‘Victor Babes’ and University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine ‘Banat’ from Timisoara.

The training sessions will be held in Timisoara according to the following schedule:

1.    Promoting policies in education May 5 – 7, 2008

2.    Advocacy May 8 – 10, 2008

3.    Networking May 12 – 14, 2008.

Eligibility:

Leaders and members of student and youth organisations from the three university centers, who are interested in involving themselves in the Accountable guvernance in higher education project, are encouraged to apply. Participants must be students of ‘Aurel Vlaicu’ University, ‘Babes-Bolyai’ University, University of West, Politehnica University, University of Medicine and Pharmacy ‘Victor Babes’ or University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine ‘Banat’.

For participants from Arad and Cluj, transport, accommodation and meal expenses are covered by the Euroregional Center for Democracy, based on the number of available seats..
